Henry

Henry

It stinks being youngest.
Lizzy's famous
for her forty-inch hair,

and Jack's the ringmaster
whose life is a circus.
Last week, he made a pair

of dogs do a pony show,
and now he's holding
a pig in the air

by its back feet.
With one hand.
Being youngest is just not fair.

  1. I wonder if this "youngest" knows where that pig is going? Young ones with older brothers like Jack surely must be envious. Love the imagining, Mary Lee.

  2. Oh my goodness! I totally did not expect this, did not expect the connection to yesterday's picture, ML. Have you planned out the whole thing, order of pics, day-by-day? SO NEAT! And I love the repeated rhyme here too... I wonder if my own Henry (also the youngest) would agree? xx

  3. This is wonderful. I really feel like the poems are giving us the inside story. I for one thinks it's worse to be in the middle. : )

  4. One more question are the poems fictional or based on family stories?
